‘BTS’ SUGA came back as rapper Agust D. On August 16 at 12:00 a.m., he released first mix tape under the same title via SoundCloud.

Wait a moment here, what is ‘Mix tape’? It is a song produced for non-commercial purpose and distributed for free. Since there is not specific review, artist can deliver honest story without moderation.

Agust D also talked about his autobiographical story. He included his experiences to the lyrics of 10 songs in total. He produced by himself in addition.

“Mix tape is something that I really wanted to do. I wanted to show my own color properly that I couldn’t reveal in BTS activities.” (Agust D)

Do you want to know about Agust D rather than SUGA? ‘STARCAST’ met Agust D. I enjoyed watching his results and had talking time with him.

This is one of the set studios in Namyangjoo, Gyeonggi-do on July 19. The shooting for MV of track no. 2 ‘Agust D’ was held.

The concept is ‘wandering youth’. The story is about SUGA who was locked up in the collapsed house escaped after struggling and born again as Agust D.

In other words, it is story about real ‘Min Yoon-ki’.

“I made this song in 2011. I made the beat at that time. The lyrics consists of real me that others never know. It will be unfamiliar but something different.” (Agust D)

Thus, SUGA created his own treasure box for long time steadily. He could release mix tape with 10 selected songs.

‘STARCAST’ (hereafter ‘S’): What does it mean by ‘Agust D’?

‘Agust D’ (hereafter ‘A’): Agust D is reading Dt suga backwards. Dt is D Town, the name of hip hop crew I used to belong to in Daegu.

S : Is it very different from ‘BTS’ SUGA?

A : Well, probably yes? It is hard to make this kind of beat and lyrics for BTS’ music. I can express my thoughts as much as I want to in Agust D mode.

S : I see. The album looks like you have spent a lot of time for it.

A : There is a song that I made long time ago. Also a song I made a month ago, too. My daily life repeats taking memo of my emotions that comes to my mind all the time and work with it.

S : The lyrics are also impressive. I can see something like agony between idol and rapper.

A : Well, it’s not something great. I am an idol. I do not deny it. But at the same time, I am a musician, too. Who likes hip hop. I just included those thoughts as it is.

S : Is there any color of SUGA that you wish to show?

A : If I explain with color, it’s white. I want to be a person who do everything well, whatever the color I put on. As an idol and as a rapper too.

S : Do you have anything to tell your fans for the last?
